One of the qualities that makes MRGS truly remarkable is its distinctive project-based curriculum, which offers educational opportunities rarely found in traditional public schools.

Kicking off the year’s first school-wide project, Design-A-Thon introduced students to the world of research while blending collaboration with creativity. Guided by a central theme on how to make their community feel more like home, students worked together to design innovative, meaningful solutions.

Seniors had the opportunity to make an impact in the Shenandoah community by cutting trails and performing trail maintenance at Wagner Park. They dedicated their morning to improving the trails—raking debris, trimming trees, and removing fallen logs—to ensure the paths remain safe, clear, and enjoyable for everyone.

Our Mission

The MRGS Foundation strives to support Massanutten Regional Governor’s School by raising awareness, connecting alumni, and funding research opportunities for the students of MRGS.

What is Research at MRGS?

At MRGS, each student designs a research project that they follow throughout the year. These projects allow students to pursue fields they are truly passionate about. They also teach high-school students about the research process, which proves invaluable in college.

In the past, student-led research projects have become patented works, won state and national recognition at science fairs, and made lasting impacts on local communities. This foundation began as a research project.

Herein lies the problem the MRGS Foundation set out to solve: student research requires funding. Students develop incredible projects, then discover they do not have the funds to see these ideas through. With your help, students could pursue the research they are passionate about - and make an impactful difference.
